Shoe
Design and Testing Research
The OBL is involved in
research that deals with footwear design and product evaluation. A description
of a number of significant project accomplishments can be found below.
The
OBL has worked with Wolverine
Boots and Shoes to develop Wolverine
Durashocks Footwear, a sock liner designed to absorb impacts
and dissipate impact forces, while providing the wearer with comfort
and durability. Because of this research and test evaluations
done at the OBL, this cutting-edge footwear technology has become
the cornerstone of many current Wolverine products.

| The
OBL also works with Merrell®
and Hush Puppies® brand
shoes, two divisions of Wolverine Boots and Shoes, to produce durable
and reliable trail and casual shoes for consumers worldwide. Merrell's
Air
Cushion® Midsole and other technologies have brought the company
to the forefront of the outdoor footwear market. Hush Puppies are
the premier casual shoe producer, creating comfortable and stylish
shoes for the global market for the last fifty years. |
